I just had to share this post.....I know this is my second post for the day but I really think this is a cute story. A few weeks ago, Gibson & Blanche were outside playing. They come running in the house to tell me that Brownie (family dog) just killed a mouse. WAY TO GO BROWNIE!!! The kids were all upset because the mouse that just died, had some baby mice that apparently had not been born very long. They were very small, eyes closed and no hair. Gibson & Blanche carried 3 baby mice into the house along with their nest that apparently the mother mouse had made to have them in. I have to say that those little babies were cute, yes I know they are mice but aren't all babies cute??? I tried to explain to the kids that the baby mice wouldn't live because their mommy had died and they needed their mommy to care for them. Well, my big hearted kids proceed to tell me, But Mommy we can take care of them. What do you say to that? So we got a bucket to put the nest and mice in. The kids said that the mice needed some milk. So I warmed up some milk, took a little dropper and tried to feed these baby mice. I really think that they were eating some of the milk. After that Gibson & Blanche wouldn't leave them along they wanted to hold them and wrap them in a towel to keep them warm. It was so cute to see the kids care for these mice. Gibson later said, Mommy lets pray for these mice. SO, we prayed for these baby mice...how could I not say okay to that. After our prayer Gibson told all of us that God would take care of the baby mice. I was thinking WOW I have taught this child well. We cared for those mice throughout the day. The next day after the kids got home from school they went to check on the baby mice....you guessed it all 3 of them died. Sad tears came. Gibson said mommy sometimes God doesn't answer our prayers. I told Gibson that God probably thought those little mice wanted their mommy and just couldn't live without her. Sometimes it's just really hard to explain things to a 4 year old. He was ok with it. I'm just so proud that my kids thought about praying for these little mice and that God would take care of them. Puts a smile on this mommy's face. Any ways....here are some pictures of the baby mice and 3 of my kiddo's.

Eeeew, MICE! But you did bring a smile to my face with your caring children's wish to help the little babies to grow, and especially when they prayed for them. Their poor hearts must have broken when they all died, but your answer was perfect.
I've just found your blog, and will return as often as I'm able!
