Can he really be 4 months old???

On February 23rd my little Ripken boy was 4 months old. I can't believe that it was 4 months ago that I first looked into those beautiful baby blue eyes. God has blessed me with this baby boy to love and care for and I thank him every day for trusting us with this baby boy. A lot has happened in the 4 months since we first met Ripken Buck Newton Halbert. He has had 1 case of ear infection and RSV. Thank God the RSV wasn't bad enough to land him in the hospital but we did have to do breathing treatments every 4 hours for a few weeks. Ripken has rolled from back to belly, he laughs a lot, tries to talk to us, reaches for items placed in front of him, loves sweet potatoes and peaches (shhh I know the dr doesn't recommend feeding until atleast 6 months but Ripken just doesn't seem like he is getting enough to eat with just formula), and he especially LOVES getting hugs and kisses from Daddy, Mommy and all his siblings. We did get our first boo boo a week ago. Big Sister Blanche thought she needed to climb in the baby bed and play with Ripken while Mommy was taking a shower. I had just stepped out of the shower heard a crash followed by Ripken screaming. I ran stark naked out of the bathroom to find the clock that was hanging above the baby bed laying inside the baby bed and Ripken's little head bleeding. I admit I was freaking out....what mother wouldn't but I stayed calm. The older son was yelling at Blanche telling her she could have killed him...I had to quiet him down because Blanche was crying and scared. She never meant to hurt her little brother and felt bad, she was telling Ripken she was sorry. I debated....do I take him to the ER or would that be over reacting. What to do what to do.....I waited to get Ripken calmed down, to get the bleeding to stop and decided no he would be fine. Once I got him calmed down he started to get a bump (which I've always heard if you hit your head and a knot comes up it will be ok, but if you've hit your head hard and no knot comes up you need to go to the ER)It wasn't too long that my little rolly poly started laughing and cooing. I said a little prayer and thanked God for taking care of my little guy. Of coarse Ripken was due to go the dr on the Monday after this accident to get his 4 months shots. I was thinking great the dr is going to question the cut on Ripken's head. Which the dr asked 20 questions about what had happened...ok maybe not 20 questions but enough to make be feel like a really bad mom...needless to say, there is NOTHING hanging above the baby bed now. Ripken is growing and this mommy is trying to enjoy every second because I know that I will one day blink and my baby won't be a baby any more.
Blessings to all of you!

Hi Joyce Kay. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment on my blog. You were close... the coffee was second. All of my handled pyrex measuring cups were what I cannot do without. I believe their were 7 in the picture.

You definitely have your hands full and are very wise to count your blessings and treasure each day. They grow up so fast! Even some of my grandchildren are getting up there in years. I miss the babies!

Your children are lucky to have been sent to such a caring family. They are all precious! Ripken is a tough little guy - glad his first bump on the head wasn't more serious.
